Care in the community

Trust and safety

Blessed Union is designed for attention, mutual freedom, and a human pace. This page explains the safeguards available in the product today—not a promise that an app can replace discernment, trusted people, or urgent local help.

Your safety and privacy controls

Conversation starts with mutual choice

An Intro is a short, contextual note. Ordinary messaging opens only after a mutual match, and the sending flow checks verification and an approved photo.

Close a connection or block a member

A member can close a mutual connection without calling the other person unsafe. Blocking remains available when a stronger boundary is needed; neither action requires an explanation to the other member.

Report concerning behaviour privately

Verified members can report concerning behaviour. A report is placed in the moderation queue, and the reported member is not shown the reporter’s identity.

Your location stays approximate

Discovery uses a member’s chosen radius when approximate location is enabled, without returning stored coordinates. The visible location label is member-written, so members are asked to use only a city or broad region—never an exact address.

What care looks like here

  • No one owes a reply, an explanation, or continued access. A mutual connection is an invitation to discern, not an obligation.
  • Faith fields are self-described. They are not a test of spiritual maturity or proof that someone is safe.
  • Meet carefully offline. Take your time, choose public places, arrange your own transport, and tell someone you trust about your plans.

Keep perspective

We do not present verification, a profile, or a shared faith label as a guarantee of character or safety. For an immediate danger or emergency, contact local emergency services.

A community is more than a feature list.

Following Jesus calls us to truthfulness, kindness and responsibility for how we treat others. That includes respecting a refusal, admitting when we are wrong, and acting on concerns. Prayer and forgiveness do not remove the need for boundaries or practical help.
